Thomas Glass Jr.

Tommy Glass, Jr.,of Boydton, Virginia, husband, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on August 29, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on April 12, 1961, in Hopewell, Virginia, Tommy was the beloved son of Thomas Glass and Ann Coxe. His life's journey was defined by kindness, hard work, and a genuine love for the outdoors.

Tommy spent his career as a dedicated Union Millwright, where he not only honed his skills but also formed lasting friendships with those who had the pleasure of working alongside him. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail and unwavering work ethic, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Beyond his professional life, Tommy was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy and peace in nature. He had a particular fondness for earth moving equipment, a hobby that allowed him to connect with the land and nurture his adventurous spirit. Whether he was moving dirt or simply exploring the great outdoors, Tommy's love for nature was evident to all who knew him and his faithful dog, Bubba.

Tommy's warmth and kindness were his defining traits. He always had a kind word to say, and his open heart meant that he never met a stranger. His family and friends will forever cherish his ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued.

He is survived by his wife, Vandy Glass, who was his partner in life and shared in his many adventures. Tommy is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Pat Glass, Becky Irby, and Dell Glass Taylor, along with Dell's husband, Roy Taylor. Since moving to this area, he quickly became close friends with Jody Upton and his family. His family and friends take comfort in the memories of his laughter and the countless ways he touched their lives.

In accordance with Tommy's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Tommy's memory are encouraged to make a donation to a charity of their choice.

Tommy Glass, Jr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
